Annual Teddy Bears' Picnic returns this fall to help ease hospital fears for children

The teddy bears picnic is back for another exciting year.

After a four-year hiatus, the popular event returned last year, celebrating its 35th anniversary.

Scott McDonald is the chair of the Teddy Bears' Picnic steering committee. He says this year's event will again take place in the fall.

"It's going to be Sunday, Sept. 7, and it's going to be at the same place it's been for the last number of years, the beautiful Assiniboine Park," said McDonald.

Stuck train crossing arms cause major delays on Route 90

Traffic is clearing on Route 90 after a stuck train crossing arm caused major delays near McGillivray Boulevard on Monday.

The arms at the crossing were down for at least an hour, beginning late Monday morning.

Motorists were left in long lineups in both directions as traffic came to a standstill.

Several people contacted us through our talk and text line to report the issue.

The arms finally lifted just before 12:30 p.m., but delays are expected to continue as traffic slowly clears the backlog.
