Twerdun Scholarship supports youth in Agriculture at AG EX
Manitoba AG EX will be livening up the Keystone Centre this week with a host of activities and events for the whole family.
Once again, the Twerdun Scholarship will be available to all participants who qualify to enter the All-Breeds Showmanship. The winner of all age groups of the All-Breeds Showmanship will compete for the overall winner. This year, the overall winner will receive the Twerdun Scholarship valued at $2000.
Peace Garden build project getting close to completion
Construction on the expansion project at the International Peace Garden continues!
"The Conservatory is continuing to come along," shares Peace Garden, CEO, Tim Chapman. "We're waiting on the connection between the solarium, the original room with the big, tall cacti, to the new expanded structure. So that will happen in the coming weeks."
"Once the building is completely enclosed, we'll be able to start with the landscaping," he adds.
"It's exciting to see it coming along week by week!"

Pelican Lake sees drastic die-off during August heat wave
A surprising number of fish have washed up on the shores of Pelican Lake, much to the shock of local anglers and Ninette-area cottage owners.
"There were upwards of about 1000 fish predominantly on the lake's south end where its more shallower, and definitely a lot warmer; less water to turn over and less places for the fish to go to get out of the heat," shares Healthy Lake Committee Chair, Trevor Maguire.
Peace Garden looks ahead with 10-year plan
After the 90th Anniversary celebration a week ago, the International Peace Garden is looking ahead to the next 10 years in planning strategies.
"We're really excited to be looking ahead at the centennial with a strong 10-year plan coming together," shares CEO Tim Chapman. "That'll really help the Garden remain sustainable and continue to improve in all areas."

Carp clean-up at Pelican Lake second phase of study
The Healthy Lake Committee of Ninette has been working at bringing the population of carp down in Pelican Lake through netting and removing them from the water body.
Committee Chair, Trevor Maguire, says this is the second phase of their fish assessment and carp eradication which was started last year.
