Olympian Scott Hamilton leaning on God, sees 3rd brain tumour shrink

Gold-medal Olympic figure skater Scott Hamilton is sharing a powerful miracle story after being diagnosed with a third brain tumour. 

Hamilton has had a long journey with cancer, dating back to his first diagnosis of testicular cancer in 1997. Hamilton underwent surgery and chemotherapy to beat this initial diagnosis. Then in 2004, Hamilton was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. It would be the first of many as he was diagnosed with another brain tumour in 2006 and again in 2016.

A faith-based movie shot in Winnipeg is just days away from premiering on the big screen. 

Originally slated to debut in the fall, Ordinary Angels, starring two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank and “Reacher” star Alan Ritchson, will hit theatres on Friday.

Getting into ministry was never the goal for Connor Gerbrandt, who has been leading the youth group for the last few years at Anchor Point Church at 1400 Pembina Highway. 

"I remember my wife and I had had a conversation where she had recognized some of the gifts of ministry in me, which I hadn't yet. She said, 'Just so you know Connor, you're not allowed to ever become a pastor.'"

That was no problem for him, as he had no desire to become a pastor at that time. 

"As He so often does, the Lord had other plans," Gerbrandt shared. 

Hundreds baptized in university's fountain after worship event

Often known as a party school, Florida State University (FSU) was recently filled with thousands of students singing praises to God on their lawn. 

The free worship event called 'Unite FSU' took place on Thursday, February 15. The next day one of the speakers, Jennie Allen shared what happened shortly after the event on her Instagram. 

"It's happening again! FSU Baptisms!  Hundreds maybe a thousand students came forward to trust Jesus. We can't explain what's happening apart from the Spirit," she wrote.

Singer-songwriter Katy Nichole has hit another milestone in her career.

'In Jesus Name (God of Possible),' a song that started as a journal entry and then a viral post on social media, is now RIAA Certified Platinum.

"I never could’ve dreamed up what God has done in my life- when I think about Ephesians 3:20, it applies to my life in more ways than one," said Nichole on Instagram. "I am incredibly blessed by the love and support of the people that God has placed in my life."
