LISTEN: Switchfoot releases new music, part of new rerecorded breakout album

Grammy Award-winning band Switchfoot has released a new version of one of their hit songs.

"We’re so honoured to have Ingrid Andress covering our song 'On Fire,'" said Switchfoot lead singer and guitarist Jon Foreman.

The new version is part of their Beautiful Letdown (Our Version) Deluxe Edition,  a rerecorded version of their breakout album from 2003.

The new collection includes new recordings from OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder, the Jonas Brothers, Twenty One Pilots, and Ingrid Andress.

'By the grace of God': Family thanks officer that saved their newborn son

A New Mexico family says it was by the grace of God that their newborn baby is alive today. 

On July 24, around 10:45 p.m., Miguel Angel Convarrubias was awoken by his wife, who said she was having contractions. 

The pair quickly got in the car and headed to the hospital. On the way, things took a turn. Miguel told KOAT that his wife could feel the baby's head pushing. Labour was imminent.

Dozens of people are dead and entire communities have been destroyed after hurricane winds pushed wildfires across two of Hawaii's islands on Wednesday. People were forced to escape into the sea in some areas as fire tore through resort towns.

Harvest at Kumulani Chapel, affiliated with Greg Laurie's Harvest Chapel, says in a social media post that "Residents were forced to jump into the harbour waters to avoid the fast-moving flames and much of historic Lahaina has been destroyed and continues to burn." 

Christian nurse and daughter freed after being kidnapped in Haiti

An American Christian nurse working and living in Haiti has been freed after being kidnapped. 

Alix Dorsaninvil, who worked for the nonprofit Christian Ministry El Roi Haiti, and her daughter, were kidnapped by armed men in Port au Prince and held hostage for two weeks.

A statement on the El Roi Haiti website says that Dorsaninvil and her daughter are now safely back home. 

Family and church mourning after Texas pastor found dead in vehicle following week-long search

The search for a missing South Texas pastor has ended in tragedy.

Authorities say that Phillip Loveday was located deceased in a vehicle on an abandoned farm in the Corpus Christi region on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

Loveday had been reported on Tuesday, August 2, after the bi-vocational pastor failed to show up at his secular job and church. His wife, Melea, had become concerned when he failed to arrive at either place and she contacted authorities. His family told police he left his phone at home but he often found ways to contact them throughout the day when he did so. 

At least 20 killed in Burkina Faso in another suspected terror attack

On Monday in Burkina Faso, shopkeepers near the Togolese border were returning from a day at the market. But their journey was cut short when suspected jihadists attacked, killing at least 20 people.

It’s a disturbing trend in Burkina Faso. Terror attacks in the West African country have killed over 5,000 people so far this year.
