Shilo Harris came from a family with deep roots in military service. As a son of a Vietnam veteran, Shilo always knew he wanted to be a soldier. On September 11th his life changed forever and shortly afterward he enlisted as a Cavalry Scout in the US Army. His first deployment was to Schweinfurt, Germany with the 1st Infantry Division. From Germany Shilo headed to war-torn Iraq.
Watching story of Jesus music come alive
While The Jesus Music movie didn't hit Canadian theatres, it will soon be available for viewing.
The film all about how Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) began will be on Blu-Ray, DVD, and digitally on December 7.
"A lot of hymns are singing are close your eyes, singing to God. I wanted to sing with my eyes wide open, singing to each other," says Amy Grant, who is one of the many Christian musicians on the film.
Back-to-back suicide bombings stun Uganda
Anti-terrorism police in Uganda are pursuing members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), an Islamic State affiliate, following Tuesday’s explosions in the capital.
Three suicide bombers carried out coordinated attacks near a police station and parliament building. Police then “caught another person who was preparing to carry out an attack,” spokesperson Fred Enanga said yesterday.
Two of the three blast victims were police officers; 33 people were injured, and five remain in critical condition.
Liverpool attack: Christians say they will continue serving asylum seekers
Churches, Christian leaders and movements supporting asylum seekers in the United Kingdom have said they will continue to welcome asylum seekers despite the terrorist attack on Sunday authored by a Christian convert.
The young man detonated a homemade explosive inside a taxi, killing himself and injuring the taxi driver. The attack was carried out on UK’s Remembrance Day and aimed to cause larger damage in Liverpool’s women’s hospital.

Making it to the top 13 contestants, Jershika Maple gave it her all with a powerful rendition of For King & Country's hit single.
All four of NBC's The Voice judges were on their feet clapping after Maple sang 'God Only Knows' for the Top 13 Live Playoffs.

"No matter how far you feel you are from God, it's never too late to come back to Him," says 1K Phew, a rapper working with Lecrae on new music.
It was a surprise for fans when on Tuesday, Lecrae dropped the album cover for No Church In A While which he is partnering up with a young artist for, 1K Phew.
"We making the good news sound good," said Lecrae on Instagram.
The pair released their first single from the album on Wednesday, called 'Wildin.'

B.C. Bible camp comes to the rescue for many stranded after flooding
"It's a big team effort here," says the director of a B.C. camp after taking in over 100 people stranded near Hope, B.C.
Dustin Siemens grew up in Altona, Manitoba, but has lived in B.C. for a few years. He is the Summer Camp Director at Camp Squeah just north of Hope, B.C. where he and his wife and their children live year-round.
"It's going really well. It's a sunny day today. We're feeling good compared to a lot of stuff that's going on around us," says Siemens.

When Bethany Beal was just 21 years old she bought her wedding dress. The only problem with that is she was single with no prospects on the horizon.
"My older sister Kristen was getting married and she was wedding dress shopping and I just happened to find the dress of my dreams and Kristen convinced me to get it," says Beal, co-founder of Girl Defined Ministries.
Beal says that dress sat in the back of her closet for the next 10 years.
First faith-based app to hit 500 million downloads
People's interest in God's word has gone up during the pandemic, as one Bible app proves with a record number of downloads.
YouVersion app announced last week that they have now hit 500 million downloads, making it the first faith-based app to reach that amount. YouVersion has been available for download since 2008.
According to one of the app's creators, the hope is to make the Bible accessible for everyone, wherever they are. Right now the Bible app offers over 2,600 Bible versions including translations in 1,760 languages.
