Dozens of police chaplains descend on downtown Winnipeg

There's a heavy police presence in downtown Winnipeg today, and they're learning how to help others break free from chains.

The Canadian Police Chaplain Association (CPCA) is hosting its annual training seminar in Winnipeg this week. Dozens of chaplains from across the nation have come to the provincial capital for a week of being equipped and networking.

As Israeli forces mount a ground invasion of Gaza following last week’s Hamas attack on thousands of civilians, Christians across the Holy Land called for both sides to “de-escalate this war” and end this “new cycle of violence.”

Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant leaders said the violence following Hamas’ surprise attack on Israel on Oct. 8 that killed 1,300 Israelis should come to an end.

Casting Crowns is continuing to release songs from Lifesongs: A celebration of the first 20 years. 

Debuting today on their YouTube channel is Tauren Wells, 'Lifesong' and Zach Williams, 'Broken Together'. 

Along with Tauren Wells and Zach Williams, the album includes performances by other artists such as Steven Curtis Chapman, Ben Fuller, CAIN, Phil Wickham and MercyMe among others. The artists will re-record the songs in their own way. 

 

B.C. church group, caught between Israel-Hamas war, struggles to get home

A group from a British Columbia church that had been touring historical sites in Israel when Hamas fighters began killing civilians is struggling to find a way home with the confusion of the war and a lack of support from the Canadian government. 

Paul Olson, an executive pastor at the SouthRidge Fellowship Church in Langley, said he woke Saturday to a ton of messages from church members on the tour saying they were safe. 

CAIN releases new album, hope it points listeners to Jesus

It's an exciting Friday for fans of the award-winning sibling trio CAIN as they release their latest album.

Jesus Music, an eleven-song project, is a tribute to the Jesus music that has come before them.
