Full Line Ag Fun Bucks are a million dollar idea

Our newest employee and Southwest Explorer, Alex Kozroski wrapped up his first weekend of exploration by attending both the Windscape Kite Festival and the Dean Anthony Memorial Rodeo in Mankota. 

While attending these events Alex gifted a number of attendees with Full Line Ag Fun Bucks, which he will continue to do at each of his stops across the Southwest this summer. 

Don't be a drag come to the races this weekend

The Swift Current Airport will be home to not just aircraft this weekend but also the drag races. 

Races will be taking place Saturday and Sunday with various classes for entry as secretary for the Swift Current Drag Race Association, Al Kaufman explains.

"We're going to have a sportsman, pro, super pro, plus also a junior, junior street and high school class racers."

Kaufman says any individuals with regular cars are invited to bring them down as he says there is a class for everything. 

Celebrate Father's Day with a soapbox race

Kids will be burning rubber on the streets of Central Avenue coming up this Sunday as part of the 40th annual soapbox races. 

Beginning at 10:00am young racers will put the pedal to the metal with 13 entries from Swift Current and 8 from out of town. 

Secretary of the Swift Current Soapbox Racing Association Board, Jennifer Dussault says they are always looking for new members.

City extends thank you for help during recent flooding

Last week the city of Swift Current took the time to thank city employees for their hard work during the recent spring flooding.

On hand at the event were numerous city employees including Mayor Al Bridal and city CAO Jim Jones in addition to Swift Current 57's player Cory Bonstrom.

President of the 57's Ryan Switzer details why it was important for the organization to play a part in the city thank you breakfast.
