Mom Market Christmas Edition brings family fun and festive feels
A fun event for the whole family will be taking place this weekend at the Stockade at Kinetic Park.
The Mom Market Christmas Edition will be taking place Saturday from 10-6 and Sunday from 10-5.
Director of The Mom Market, Taylor Eaton provides some details about the event.
"We have a free event for the public with bouncy castles and a photo booth and tons of great vendors. We are doing hourly draws all weekend for those who come down and enter."
Eaton adds that this year they have many local vendors as well as some new vendors as well.

The Best Buddies program at the Swift Current Comprehensive High School is putting out a call for some festive donations to assist with an upcoming event.
Tara Christiansen a co-advisor with the Best Buddies program provides details on the foundation of the program.
"The overall mission of Best Buddies is to create opportunities for one-on-one friendship and relationships for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities."
Students bribe teachers for a cause
One local school recently provided their students with extra incentives through a unique Terry Fox fundraiser.
The Bribe Your Teacher fundraiser saw students heavily invested as an Intervention teacher at the school Michelle Vavra explains.
"So basically it's a fundraising activity where the students in each class, collaborate to raise money to bribe their teacher for a variety of activities. Their teacher leads the class in the discussion of the kinds of activities students might want and how much it will cost for them to get that."
Top three SCBEX Awards finalists revealed
Nominations were narrowed down to the top three in 9 award categories at the Swift Current Business Excellence (SCBEX) Awards finalists reveal event held last night at Great Plains College.
CEO of the Swift Current & District Chamber of Commerce, Karla Wiens says selection was difficult this year due to numerous nominations.
"This year we received over 100 nominations. We had 76 individual nominees this year in 11 different award categories."
Successful first fundraiser towards the Lyric Theatre
While the Lyric Theatre remains closed during renovations, the spirit of the Lyric was alive at Market Square yesterday with the theatres first fundraiser "Shades of Chautauqua."
Georgia Graham, President of the Lyric board provides details on the day's events.
"A collaboration of music, spoken word, youth performances, theatre all of it in one space. So, we had performances from Write Out Loud, our Youth Talent Night, our Open Stage and our theatre troupe just for mini performances here at Market Square."
