The U11 Winkler Nitro captured gold in their recent playdowns and coach Dwayne Wall couldn't be prouder of his group.

Our team played really well, we played our best ball at the right time of the year. We won our three round robin games and that led us to a Winkler vs Winkler final. We had a tight, close game but our girls persevered and we came out one top."

It’s early — waaay too early — to make any bold declarations and concrete proclamations. Shoot, it’s still June.

Yet, say this about the work-in-progress Winnipeg Blue Bombers two weeks into the Canadian Football League season:

There are just enough flashes of brilliance on offence and special teams — both units backed by a stifling defence — to have everyone in Bomberland sliding to the front of their collective seats wanting to witness much, much more of the 2025 edition.
