Southeast Event Centre hosts Winnipeg Jets Viewing Parties!

Excitement is building as the Winnipeg Jets enter the playoffs, and the Southeast Event Centre is bringing people together to watch hockey on the big screen. Well, actually, big screens.

Director of Communications at the Southeast Event Centre, Michelle Sawatzky-Koop, says their screens are 15 feet tall and 45 feet wide so you can really see every pass, every check, every goal!

Soap for Hope is here! Pharmasave encourages community to "come on by"

It’s back! Soap for Hope is happening today at Pharmasave in Steinbach.

From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., volunteers and staff will be on-site collecting new, unopened, donations of soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and other personal hygiene products to support Steinbach Community Outreach. 

The initiative provides people experiencing homelessness, or facing economic challenges, with basic hygiene items.

"It’s already here. One year has already gone by since the last one," says Scott Penner with Pharmasave.

A man from Ile des Chenes is now a millionaire thanks to his winning LOTTO 6/49 ticket.

Richard Hall purchased his winning ticket through PlayNow. Hall says he received an email saying he had won a prize following the draw. But Hall did not check it right away.

"I thought it was probably another Free Play, so I didn't check it right away," he admits. "When I finally opened it, it had a strange screen I had never seen before."

Agricultural Water Management Fund application deadline coming up April 30

The 2025 Agricultural Water Management Fund is now accepting applications. This fund aims to support agricultural producers and local governments in developing effective water management projects.

After several years of starts, stops, and shifting timelines, it looks like the long-awaited hotel development in Niverville may finally be ready to move ahead. Steel Creek Developers says construction on the 74-room Blue Crescent Hotel is now expected to begin in the second half of 2025, possibly as soon as late summer or fall.

Hakuna matata—it means no worries for the rest of your days, because Artista Academy is performing the Lion King this weekend!

Well, maybe that last part doesn't fit the definition, or the song, but it sure is true. On April 26 and 27, the theatre group will be performing the beloved, musical classic at Steinbach Regional Secondary School with showtimes at 1 p.m., 4 p.m., and 7 p.m.
