Broncos face the Flin Flon Bombers armed with goalie acquisition Jared Picklyk

The Humboldt Broncos face the Flin Flon Bombers on home ice tonight at the EPA. The Broncos have shored up the personnel between the pipes with a pre-deadline acquisition. 

The Broncos have signed 2003 born, free-agent goaltender Jared Picklyk from the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL.

Broncos welcome goalie Hayden Dunford to roster

The Humboldt Broncos have bolstered their crease acquiring 20-year-old goaltender Hayden Dunford from the BCHL’s Merritt Centennials in exchange for future considerations.
Dunford is a 6’5” goaltender from Guelph, ON who has spent part of the last two seasons in the BCHL.
This season with the Centennials, Dunford has posted a 1-5-0 record with a 5.77 GAA and .841 SV%. Prior to moving across the country, he produced strong numbers in the GOJHL in Ontario with the Caledonia Corvairs, suiting up for six games, with a 3.00 GAA and .922 SV%.

Veteran influx leads Broncos to 4-1 win over Hawks

The Humboldt Broncos called in some experience for their second preseason game of the season as they squared off with the Nipawin Hawks in the back half of a home and home weekend set on Saturday night.

The Broncos, as opposed to Friday night where they dressed just one 20-year-old, had 12 additional veterans enter the lineup for their first preseason action on Saturday. The influx of experience paved the way to a 4-1 win where they outshot the Hawks 53-21.

The scoreboard didn’t dictate a victory for the Humboldt Broncos on Friday night as they fell to the Nipawin Hawks, but there was a lot to be optimistic about.

The Humboldt Broncos travelled to Nipawin to start their preseason schedule on Friday night. The lineup featured just two returning players. one 20-year-old, and three 16-year-olds, as the coaching staff got a great look at some young talent trying to crack the opening day roster come September 17th.

Rayce Ramsay named CJHL Goaltender of the Year

The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced Thursday that Rayce Ramsay of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Humboldt Broncos has been named its Top Goaltender Award honouree for the 2021-22 season.

Ramsay garnered the laurels over fellow top netminder finalists Kolby Thornton, Lloydminster Bobcats (AJHL); Reece Proulx, Pembroke Lumber Kings (CCHL); Noah Metivier, Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL) and James Gray, North York Rangers (AJHL), after a national voting process completed by each of the nine leagues, that comprise the CJHL.
