Prince Charles and Camilla kick off three-day Canadian tour in St. John's today
Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, are in Newfoundland and Labrador's capital today to begin a three-day Canadian tour focused on Indigenous reconciliation and climate change.
The royal couple will visit the provincial legislature where they will be welcomed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau before heading to Government House, which is the official residence of Lt.-Gov. Judy Foote, the Queen's representative in the province.
Milgaard pushed for action on Indigenous sisters' wrongful conviction claims
David Milgaard was actively helping people who claim they have been wrongfully convicted right up until his sudden death, including two Indigenous sisters who have been incarcerated for nearly 30 years.
The victim of one of Canada's most notorious miscarriages of justice, he spent 23 years in prison for a 1969 rape and murder he didn't commit.
Milgaard died over the weekend after a short illness at the age of 69.
Anderson Branch Road to be built-up ahead of possible flooding
Crews with the City of Kenora will be working to protect Anderson Branch Road residents as best they can, to help prevent further road closures and washouts with the severe flooding in the area.
The City of Kenora says contractors will be working to raise the Anderson Branch Road surface ahead of rising water levels, just west of the Carlton Road intersection. Work has started this afternoon and will continue at the north side of Alcock Lake on Carlton Road tomorrow.
Gas prices creep up to $2 in Kenora district
While we haven’t broken the $2 per litre mark in the Kenora area yet, we’re closer than ever.
Gas prices have went up again from 195.9 per litre to 199.9 at some fuel stations in Kenora, and the increased prices are expected to hit remaining fuel stations at any time now.
The new price of 199.9 has once again broken the Kenora area’s all-time highest price record, which was sitting at 195.9 since May 8. Before that, the record was set on May 2 with prices at 189.9 per litre, which also broke the prior record of 182.9 per litre set earlier in the year.

VIDEO: Boathouse becomes a house boat?
A boathouse came loose on Lake of the Woods over the weekend and began to float around. High water levels in the Lake of the Woods watershed have resulted in flooding and damage to homes, cottages, and local infrastructure.
As of publishing, it's unknown what happened to the boathouse.

Road and highway update - May 16
As of 9:00 am Monday, May 16:
East Melick Road closed at Essex Road.
East Melick Road is closed 600m north of the Portier bridge.
Highway 658, North of Basket Lake Bridge, is fully closed due to water over the road.
Gordon Lake Road, west of McIntosh Road closed due to the increased flow of water through the Forest Lake dam.
Highway 105, from Highway 17 to Highway 609, is fully closed due to water over the road.

The Toronto Blue Jays, with only three wins in their past 10 games, get a chance to right the ship against the struggling Seattle Mariners at Rogers Centre. Toronto is expected to send Yusei Kikuchi to the mound, while the Mariners are expected to respond with Chris Flexen.

Melillo responds to current flooding situation in NWO
It has been a spring for the ages, from the over 300 cm of snow the area got this winter, to the heavy rainfall already received this spring, which has caused severe flooding conditions in the region.
In the last week, several roadways and highways have closed due to flooding or a washout, cutting off residents to various communities.
