ACORN

Ruben Acorn aged 89 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Sunday, September 29th, 2024, after a brief illness. 

Ruben was born in Moose Jaw on December 9th, 1934, to Sam and Winniford Acorn.  He grew up with seven siblings down in the Moose Jaw Valley area.

As a young adult, Ruben met the love of his life, Joan Elizabeth Smith.  They soon married in 1955, shared 57 wonderful years together, and raised three boys.

With aching hearts, the family wishes to announce that Leslie Prabhu, late of Estevan, SK passed away at St. Joseph’s Special Care Home on Friday, September 27, 2024 at the age of 85 years.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Thuy Nguyen presiding. Interment will take place at Estevan City Cemetery. Please join the family for a time of lunch to be held in the church auditorium.

The family of Ken Olson of Redcliff, AB and formerly of Moose Jaw, SK and the Weyburn, SK District, beloved husband of Louise and father to Rick Olson and Crystal Bailey, sadly announce his passing on Monday, September 30, 2024.  He was 75 years of age. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. from the Grace United Church, Weyburn, SK with officiant Reverend M. Barnabas.  Following the funeral service, please join the family for a memorial luncheon in the lower level of the church.  Interment will be held Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, SK.

Anna Marie Andree, age 83, of Ponteix, Saskatchewan passed away on September 18, 2024 at the Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home.

Anna Marie was born on October 9, 1940 in Bracken, Saskatchewan to Mike and Mary Andree. Anna Marie is survived by her brother Tony Andree; niece Louise (Barry) Cloutier; nephews: David (Collette) Andree, Father Ronald Andree, and Wayne (Amy) Andree; 10 great nieces and nephews: Ben Cloutier, Tim (Svetlana) Cloutier, Nicole Cloutier, Michael (Sierra) Andree, John Andree, Thomas Andree, Katherine Andree, Joanna Andree, Mikayla Andree, and Dominic Andree.

With family by his side, Richard Thomas 'Tom' Martin passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024 in Eston, at the age of 80 years. 

Beloved brother of Claire (Al) Heron, Joe (Maryellen) Martin, Judi Whitehouse, Gerry (Jane) Martin, Susan Martin, Michael (Grace) Martin, and Dennis (Lois) Martin; and cherished uncle and great-uncle to many.

There will be a celebration of life held for Tom in the spring of 2025.

Wilda Gardner (nee King) October 8, 1929 – September 24, 2024

It is with sadness that the family of Wilda announce her passing on September 24, 2024 in Vernon BC. Wilda was predeceased by her husband, Jim, in 2011. Wilda is survived by her children, David (Jan), Bob (Jennifer), Kathy (Roger Strutt) as well as 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She loved being a grandmother and was very proud of all her family. She is also survived by her older sister Shirley Rowland and her younger sister Mary Belyea.
