STRAYER

Glenys May Strayer (née: Carter), born August 7th, 1925 in Rouleaus, SK, passed away the morning of Friday, June 6th, 2025, just short of her 100th milestone birthday. 

It is with a heart full of gratitude and celebration that we honour the vibrant life of Elizabeth Wilhelmina Filazek (nee Engel), affectionately known as Betty, who was born on May 2, 1935, in Spring Valley, SK. Betty's journey on this earth came to a sudden & unexpected close on May 7, 2025, in Regina, SK, where she was called to her eternal home, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and service.

Sprecken, Keith Duane late of Weyburn, Saskatchewan, formerly of Griffin, Saskatchewan and spouse to Hazel (Lafrentz) Sprecken, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the age of 92 years.

Keith Sprecken was born on January 6, 1933, to Carl and Florence Sprecken in Griffin, Saskatchewan. As an only child, friends played a very important role in his life, and he maintained close friendships spanning decades and ages.

Murray Schemenauer

It is with great sadness that the family of Murray Edwin Schemenauer 74 years of Humboldt, announce his passing on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Humboldt District Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Murray was born on May 23, 1951 to John and Adeline (nee Theis) Schemenauer at Humboldt, where he lived on the family’s farm in St James, obtaining his education at the St. James and Lake Lenore Schools.

William George Klassen

We regret to announce the passing of William “Willie” Klassen on May 23, 2025 at his home in Portage la Prairie, MB at the age of 67 years.

Willie will be lovingly remembered by his children Scott (Jenny) Klassen and Jazmine Klassen (Jeremy Whitford), grandchildren Jamie and Makenna Klassen, sister Judy Weiler, brother John Klassen, along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Peter Klassen, mother Tini “Katie” Klassen, brothers Jim Klassen and Ben Klassen.

In loving memory of Alice Schmidt (nee Renz) of Kindersley, SK who passed away on June 6, 2025 at the age of 97.

A graveside burial service will be held on Thursday June 12, 2025 at 1:30pm at the Kindersley Cemetery with Rev. Scott Kopperud officiating. A memorial service will be held at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Kindersley on August 13, 2025 @ 2pm, a place she loved, cared for and was very active in for many years.

Violet Lea Martens, aged 94 years of Tugaske, SK, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6th, 2025. 

 William (Bill) John Murphy of Moose Jaw passed away on June 4, 2025, at the age of 86. Bill was born April 15, 1939, in Calgary, AB to his parents Eleanor and William Murphy. His family later relocated to Oakville, ON. When Bill was 15 years of age, his family moved to Moose Jaw, SK where he resided until his recent passing.

The Celebration of Life Service for the late Gerry Egland of Eastend will be held on Monday, June 16th at 2:00 p.m. from Eastend Memorial Hall in Eastend. Interment for the late Gerry Egland will take place at Riverside Cemetery at Eastend. Binkley’s Funeral Service of Shaunavon is in charge of the arrangements.
