Hugh Krips Obituary

1939 ~ 2025 (age 85)

Hugh Darwin Krips passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, May 2, 2025 at 85 years in Unity, SK.

Beloved husband of Celine (nee Senecal); loving father of Natasha and Nicole (Cory Anderson); and cherished uncle.

A Celebration will be held for Hugh this summer.

David Adrian, 83, of Steinbach formerly of Plum Coulee, passed away Monday, May 5th at Rest Haven Care Home. He is survived by his wife Lynda, 1 daughter, 2 sons, 1 sister, 2 brothers, and their families. He was predeceased by 2 sons. 
Viewing will be at Crossings Funeral Care Thursday, May 8th from 2 to 4pm. 
The celebration of life for David Adrian will be held Wednesday, May 14th at 10:30am at Crossings Funeral Care, Steinbach.

Funeral For:  Frank Wiebe 
Funeral Date: May 11, 2025 
Frank Wiebe, 80, of Winnipeg passed away Thursday, May 1st at Health Sciences Centre. He is survived by his wife Barb, 2 sons, and their families.  
The funeral service for Frank Wiebe will be held Sunday, May 11th at 2:30pm at Portage Avenue Church, 1420 Portage Avenue, with ash interment at Chapel Lawn Cemetery at a later date.  
Viewing will be at the church prior to the service.  
Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Funeral For:  Rita Sawatzky 
Funeral Date: May 11, 2025 
Rita Sawatzky, 94, of Steinbach passed away Monday, May 5th at Bethesda Regional Health Centre. She is survived by 2 daughters, 1 son, and their families. She was predeceased by her first husband Jacob Klassen, her second husband Frank Sawatzky, and 1 grandson. 
Cremation has taken place. 
A memorial service for Rita Sawatzky will be held Sunday, May 11th at 2pm at Birchwood Funeral Chapel with ash interment at a later date. 
Donations may be made to MCC. 

Butch Wagner
1955-2025
Butch Wagner, late of Estevan, SK and formerly of Bienfait, Sk passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Estevan, Sk at the age of 69 years.
In keeping with Butch’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
Hall Funeral Services in Estevan is caring for the Wagner family – Deb Heidinger, Funeral Director.

The Funeral Service for the late Sylvia Weber of Ponteix and formerly of Shaunavon and Climax will be held on Friday, May 9th at 2:00 p.m. from Christ the King R. C. Church in Shaunavon with Reverend Father Ron Andree officiating. Interment for the late Sylvia Weber will take place at St. Mary’s R. C. Cemetery at Shaunavon. Binkley’s Funeral Service of Shaunavon is in charge of the arrangements. Stanley Frank Lonoway, late of Weyburn, SK (formerly of Regina, SK and Yorkton, SK), passed away on February 9, 2025 at the age of 89 years.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Gerald, SK with celebrant Fr. Frances Plaparampil. Luncheon will follow at Daisy Hill Manor, 629 ~ Main Street, Esterhazy, SK.

Doreen Elizabeth Blight  (nee Miller)

Peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2025, Doreen “Doddy” Blight passed away with family by her side at Douglas Campbell Lodge at the age of 93.

She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Don Blight; son Rick Blight; parents Don and Mary Miller; sisters Margaret Miller, Dawn Alayne (Jim) Galbraith and Marilyn (Dave) Miller.

Edgar Oscar Matthes, late of Stoughton, SK, passed away on May 3, 2025. Ed was born and resided most of his life in Winnipeg. He was 71 years.

Edgar was predeceased by mother, Elfriede.

Edgar is survived by his loving wife, Laurie; his son, Ron Matthes; daughter, Jennifer
Matthes (Ian Gold) [Orion, Violet]; brothers, Edwin Matthes, Gordon Matthes; his niece and nephew, Jeremy and Danielle.
