MHV gets more grants, fewer donations

As the Mennonite Heritage Village gets closer to the end of its fiscal year, Executive Director Gary Dyck says they are hoping for more donations to come in before they close the books on this year. 

“The donations unfortunately have been down,” Dyck reports. “And the grants have been way up and so that's good for lots of activity, lots of busyness. But to keep it going day-to-day, that's what we need the donations for.” 

SAC Fall Concert Series kicks off on Thursday

Acapella is how the Fall Concert Series will begin in Steinbach with “Those Guys” putting on a show on Thursday, October 6th. 

Wes Rambo is especially excited to be performing in Steinbach. 

“Because that was one of the places that I first started performing, one of the places that I first got my start,” he says. “We're so, so happy to be back on stage and it's something we've all been missing so much.” 

Local opportunities to learn and reflect, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Local events are planned this week for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 

Audrey Harder says the Pat Porter Active Living Centre will be closed on Friday, so they are hosting a special event on Tuesday, September 27th and it is open for everyone to attend.
