As the Mennonite Heritage Village gets closer to the end of its fiscal year, Executive Director Gary Dyck says they are hoping for more donations to come in before they close the books on this year. 

“The donations unfortunately have been down,” Dyck reports. “And the grants have been way up and so that's good for lots of activity, lots of busyness. But to keep it going day-to-day, that's what we need the donations for.” 

A unique leather banner is at Mennonite Heritage Village right now, telling the story of the Mennonite migration to Paraguay in the 1920s. 

While the forecast indicates warm weather this week, staff and volunteers at Mennonite Heritage Village prepare for winter weather. 

As the temperature drops and snow flies, the plan is to have a place for the community to enjoy while being active. 

Plans are in the works to erect a tipi on the grounds at the Mennonite Heritage Village in Steinbach. 

Executive Director Gary Dyck says it was Reid Bouvier, a Métis teacher at the SRSS, who brought the idea to the museum. 

Even though his home team lost the game, Andrew Schmidt of Niverville will always have great memories from the evening when he got to be a guest announcer for a sport that he loves. 

He experienced the Niverville Nighthawks October 14th game from a seat at ice level, with a microphone in hand.

Acapella is how the Fall Concert Series will begin in Steinbach with “Those Guys” putting on a show on Thursday, October 6th. 

Wes Rambo is especially excited to be performing in Steinbach. 

“Because that was one of the places that I first started performing, one of the places that I first got my start,” he says. “We're so, so happy to be back on stage and it's something we've all been missing so much.” 

With a growing senior population in the country, a local organization is taking steps to support adult children and their parents. 

Local events are planned this week for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 

Audrey Harder says the Pat Porter Active Living Centre will be closed on Friday, so they are hosting a special event on Tuesday, September 27th and it is open for everyone to attend. 

The Pat Porter Active Living Centre in Steinbach is still counting donations from its 2nd Annual Golf Tournament.
