Vita Canada Day in photos

The stands were packed this year at Vita Canada Day. Watching all the skilled competitors in the Heartland Rodeo was a thrill. To start off the day they had a baseball tournament and a parade. During the afternoon they had some bouncers, face painting, and barrel rides for the kids. People were able to enjoy the beer gardens and food from the canteen and food trucks. Later on in the day, they had mounted shooting, the strongman competition, and some awesome fireworks.

Enjoy these photos we took at the event!

People flock to MHV for Canada Day celebrations

As soon as the gates opened Friday morning at Mennonite Heritage Village, people started showing up for Canada Day celebrations.

Volunteers greeted visitors at the gates, offering information and free admission wristbands. In all corners of the museum grounds, you could find volunteers bustling around to make sure there would be ample food and activities.

The Feast of Saint Jean Baptiste took place in La Broquerie this weekend and this Sunday had some great entertainment. To start off the day, they held mass at Saint-Joachim Parish, and following that was the parade with a great line-up of vehicles and floats.

People sat down afterward to enjoy lunch from the food trucks parked at the HyLife Centre. They were able to enjoy the petting zoo, face painting, wagon rides, and live music. The performers were Sh'koot, Madame Diva, Mago the Magician, and Alexandre Tétrault.

Country show tests the size of New Bothwell's stage

Quinton Blair was not messing around with his concert this past weekend in New Bothwell.

He showed up at the Summer Fair with more than a full band.

“I can’t remember the last time I hired a six-piece band to come and play,” Blair chuckles.

He says it’s a lot of fun to be on stage with so many talented musicians.

New Bothwell Summer Fair was a blast. They had lots of activities for families to come out and enjoy. The day started with a free pancake breakfast, and then they set up an inflatable obstacle course for the kids.

In the afternoon they had bingo with cash prizes, a magic show, a foam party and face painting. Once it was time to eat, they served a delicious perogy dinner.

In the evening there was live music featuring Daniel Desorcy and Quinton Blair. Once it was dark out, everyone got to end the night with amazing fireworks.
