Warriors win fifth straight, beat Rebels in Red Deer
The Moose Jaw Warriors secured another hard fought road win on Saturday night in Red Deer.
Ryder Korczak scored twice, while Connor Ungar made 41 saves as the Warriors upended the Rebels, 5-2, at the Peavey Mart Centrium.
“They do a good job of being disciplined to the way they play and I thought we did a good job tonight being disciplined in our own system,” Warriors assistant coach Gord Burnett said.
Saturday’s win was the fifth straight for the Warriors as they’ve went 5-1 on their seven-game road trip, which wraps up on Sunday in Calgary.
Warriors comeback to beat Vancouver in overtime
The Moose Jaw Warriors are finding ways to win and it continued on Wednesday night.
Moose Jaw scored three unanswered goals to come back from two two-goals deficits in the third period and win 5-4 in overtime over the Giants in Vancouver.
“We played really well,” Warriors assistant coach Scott King. “I liked our energy and we played a really solid hockey game.”
Warriors roll in Victoria for third straight win
Victoria, B.C. — Once the Moose Jaw Warriors started rolling, they were tough to stop on Tuesday night in Victoria.
The Warriors scored seven straight goals and cruised to an 8-3 win over the Royals for their third straight win on the seven-game road trip.
“It was a slow start, but we found our legs after we got down one and then it started going our way,” Warriors assistant coach Gord Burnett said.
Denton Mateychuk finished with a goal and five points in the win.
Firkus scores late to lift Warriors past Rockets on Saturday
The Moose Jaw Warriors’ power play delivered when it was needed the most on Saturday night.
Jagger Firkus scored with 18 seconds to play in the third period to lift the Warriors to a 4-3 win over the Kelowna Rockets at Prospera Place.
Firkus buried a cross-ice feed from Brayden Yager for his second goal and fourth point of the night.
“Stuff like that’s not planned out, you have to read and react to what the kill is giving you,” Warriors assistant coach Scott King said.
Warriors earn hard fought win in Kamloops on Friday
The Memorial Cup hosts didn’t make it easy on the Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday night.
he Warriors battled the Blazers for 60 hard fought minutes, but secured a 3-2 in Kamloops to continue their B.C. Division road trip.
“It is a big win,” Warriors assistant coach Gord Burnett said. “To beat a team like this in this type of tight game with the [playoff] feel that it had, it’s a big win for our confidence.”
TRADE: Warriors receive draft pick from Regina for Ginnell
Moose Jaw Warriors general manager Jason Ripplinger has announced a trade with the Regina Pats.
Moose Jaw acquires a fifth round pick in the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft in exchange for 20-year-old forward Riley Ginnell.
“We would like to thank Riley for his time in Moose Jaw and we wish him all the best in his career moving forward,” Ripplinger said.
Ginnell was traded to the Warriors from Brandon on Oct. 11 for a fifth round pick. He had one goal and three points in 14 games in Moose Jaw.
Korczak ready to make his return to Warriors lineup
After a long few days of travel, Ryder Korczak arrived back in the Friendly City and hit the ice with the Moose Jaw Warriors for his first practice of the season on Thursday.
“It’s a whirlwind,” Korczak said. “Going from Hartford back to Moose Jaw, it’s a long drive, but I’m definitely ready for this weekend.”
The Warriors are also ready for their star 20-year-old forward to be back in the lineup.
Head coach Mark O’Leary said Korczak’s return comes at the right time for the team, who have dropped back-to-back games.
Warriors downed by Raiders 2-1 on Tuesday
The Moose Jaw Warriors struggled early and couldn’t finish late on Tuesday night, dropping a 2-1 game to the Prince Albert Raiders at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
“It’s a 60-minute game and playing 20 of it isn’t going to get it done,” Warriors assistant coach Gord Burnett said after the loss.
Moose Jaw falls to 11-8-0-0 on the season.
It’s the second straight home loss for the Warriors, who were coming off a 5-1 loss on Saturday to Medicine Hat.
Ryder Korczak reassigned back to the Warriors
Ryder Korczak has been reassigned to the Moose Jaw Warriors by the New York Rangers.
“This is a huge addition to our team,” Warriors general manager Jason Ripplinger said. “Adding a top-six forward to your team without any compensation is obviously exciting for the organization.
“We expect Ryder to come in, be a leader and help us win some more games.”
The 20-year-old forward has played in five games this season with the Hartford Wolf Pack in the American Hockey League.
Warriors stumble in loss to Tigers Saturday
The Moose Jaw Warriors are still searching for the right recipe in back-to-back games this season.
The Warriors dropped the second half of a home-and-home against Medicine Hat, falling 5-1 to the Tigers on Saturday night at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
“We’ve got to find a way to be better in back-to-back games, it just hasn’t been good to us this season and we have to figure out what’s going on,” Warriors assistant coach Gord Burnett said.
