Fairview RCMP lay charges on male

On Jan. 24, 2025, Fairview RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious person and vehicle in the area of Range Road 43 and Township Road 824, and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle.

RCMP located inside the vehicle, Friedrich Schmidt (30), a resident of Fairview, who was then charged, for failing to comply with his recent release order conditions. 

Schmidt was brought before a Justice of the Peace, where he was remanded with a court date of Feb. 3, 2025 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Peace River.

Canadian Cattle Association hoping to avoid the worst for producers as tariffs loom large

The Canadian Cattle Association has been looking for ways to keep Canadian beef producers going strong even as the U.S. is threatening a 25 per cent blanket tariff on the country.

That work has included speaking with American representatives and charting a course through new trade realities.

Nathan Phinney, the President of the CCA, says that having the time to discuss the tariff is one small positive in the situation.

Lead singer of Rend Collective opens up about depression

Chris Llewellyn, the lead singer of the Christian band Rend Collective, is opening up about his battle with depression, including in their new single. 

Rend Collective released a new single "Fight of Your Life" on Jan. 24, 2025. 

"This song is really personal to me," says Llewellyn on the band's social media. "It's all about my own fight of my life which is my battle with depression. The fight for mental health."

Lecrae overcome with emotion as daughter publicly declares faith through baptism

Christian rapper Lecrae's daughter Maya decided to take the plunge and be baptized this past Sunday, bringing her dad to tears of joy. 

"Today, my daughter publicly declared her decision to follow Christ, and it’s just now hitting me. I’m overwhelmed with emotion, (Dad is crying)," Lecrae said on social media.
