Top aides told the audience that Democrats would continue overnight to fight to make sure that every vote is counted.

'All God': Couple survives Hurricane Helene by floating 400 yards on couch

It's been over a month since Hurricane Helene swept through several of the southern states and many people are still seeing the effects of the damage caused.

While Howard and Lisa Ray lost their home in North Carolina, they are giving glory to God that they are alive.

The day started off normal as Howard went to work as a lieutenant with the fire department. "The morning was pretty normal up until 9:15. I stayed out all night checking roads. I've seen water run down the road."

Thinking right

James 1:19–25

Wouldn't you love to live courageously in spite of the odds? Doesn't it sound exciting to be divinely powerful in day-to-day living? Aren't you anxious to become authentic in a day of copy-cat styles and horrendous peer pressure? Of course!

It all begins in the mind. Thinking right always precedes acting right. That is why I emphasize the importance of the renewed mind. It is really impossible to grasp the concept of serving others—or to carry it out with joy, without fear—until our minds are freed from the world's mould and transformed by the Lord's power.

Soil testing a key component in making sure farmland is outputting what's needed

With the ground about to freeze across the prairies, many farmers are getting soil sampling done before the end of the year.

Testing out just what's in many farmer's grounds is a key part of making sure you know what's under the surface and what might need to go in.

UN refugee chief says reducing refugee targets is wise if it prevents backlash

The head of the United Nations refugee agency says it is wise of Canada to scale back the number of new refugees it plans to resettle if that helps stabilize the housing market and prevents backlash against newcomers.

Filippo Grandi, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, met with the prime minister in Ottawa on Monday.

His visit comes a little more than a week after the federal government announced plans to cut overall immigration levels by 20 per cent for 2025 — a cut that includes refugees and protected persons.
