UPDATE: Gas leak causes detours on Lakeland Drive

UPDATE: 2:58pm

Grande Prairie RCMP have notified the public that the area is now clear.

Grande Prairie RCMP are currently on scene redirecting traffic on Lakeland Drive between 95 Street and 123 Avenue in Grande Prairie due to a gas leak. City crews are working on repairs, which are expected to take about 2 hours.

An update will be provided once the situation is resolved and police have cleared the area.

Dawson Creek and Fort St. John issued special weather statement

Heavy rain is expected at times today in the B.C. Peace River region.

A frontal system will slowly move from the Fort Nelson region towards the Peace River region today. Rain, heavy at times, is forecast with this system.

Rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 mm, with locally higher amounts possible, are expected before the rain eases this evening.

Prairie Pest Monitoring Network update

The June 21st Prairie Pest update covers a lot of ground with information on a variety of insects for farmers to be aware of covering insect identification, scouting tips, potential issues and more.

Dr. Meghan Vankosky, a field crop entamologist with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, works with her AAFC and her provincial counterparts in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta in putting together the weekly report and identifying any potential issues.

The son of Dr. Tony Evans is speaking out about his father's recent announcement that he would be taking time off 'due to sin.'

On June 9, the lead pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship church in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Tony Evans, shared that he would be stepping down as pastor.

On Father's Day, Evans' son, Jonathan, took to the stage at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship to speak on behalf of his father.

The Edmonton Oilers may not be on home ice when they try to clinch the Stanley Cup against the Florida Panthers on Monday night, but screams of support will resound across Canada from rinkside watch parties, bars, seniors homes and ordinary living rooms.
