Bombers play party poopers in Rourke's CFL return

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers did more than just crash the party and spoil the Nathan Rourke coronation here on the left coast Sunday night.

It’s bigger than that. Much bigger. In mauling the B.C. Lions 20-11 in front of 30,803 at B.C. Place in a score that was flattering to the home side, they sent a crystal-clear message to the rest of the Canadian Football League: don’t let their 4-6 record fool anybody, these Blue Bombers have bolted up out of the grave after an 0-4 start and are absolutely feasting again.

Global Affairs Canada said the new condo is smaller and more suitable, saying that the old unit, which was purchased in 1961 and last renovated in 1982, needed updates to the electrical, heating, ventilation and plumbing.

Winnipeg woman gives gift of reading to children by hosting Free Little Library event

After spending five years working in the elementary school system, a Winnipeg woman was inspired to start a Free Little Library event.

Inspired by the Free Little Libraries we see placed in people's yards, Preslee Marshall decided to do this on a much larger scale.

"I learned about the importance of reading and literacy at a young age," said Marshall. " And I know that not everyone can afford books, or they don't have easy access to libraries. I wanted to make an event to help spread awareness about literacy and declining rates in Canada."
