Parts of the southwest under wind warning
A wind warning has been issued for a portion of southwestern Saskatchewan on Wednesday.
Environment and Climate Change Canada sent out the warning at 11:09 a.m. with gusts locally ranging from 70-90 km/hr.
The region under the warning spans from north of Kyle, south to just north of Cadillac, east from Ernfold, and west to Gull Lake.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, the strong winds, localized to this area, are caused by a southerly flow over the southwest.
Kindersley court hears guilty pleas, sets trial dates in multiple cases. May 6
Derek Webster-Dinney, 33, pleaded guilty to operation while prohibited and theft. He received a 14-month conditional sentence order, which includes a curfew, 20 hours of community service, and restitution of $928 to Kindersley Castle Building Centre for unrecovered stolen items.
Progress was made in the combined Cisna, Finlay and Nernberg case. All three accused elected trial by provincial court judge. Trial dates were scheduled for October 27 to 31 and November 3 to 5. A case management conference between defense counsel and the Crown is set for May 9.
Centennial Cup getting underway in Calgary

Saskatchewan expands RSV immunization to cover all infants born during respiratory season
Saskatchewan is expanding its infant immunization program to protect all newborns from Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) during peak respiratory illness season, the province announced this week.
Beginning this fall, every baby born in Saskatchewan from one month prior to the start of RSV season — which typically runs from Oct. 1 to March 31 — will be eligible to receive a publicly funded RSV immunization at birth, with parental consent.
Unity RCMP respond to thefts, trespassing and wellness checks in weekly report
Unity RCMP responded to a variety of calls for service between April 29 and May 5, ranging from theft and trespassing to wellness checks and mental health concerns.
Mounties received two separate theft complaints — one of which remains under investigation, while the other had insufficient evidence to proceed. Officers were also called to address a trespassing complaint. A verbal warning was issued to the individual involved.

Kobras bottle drive sees another massive haul
The Kindersley Kobras football team has seen generous support from the community over the past few years when it comes to the team's bi-annual bottle drive. The day of work tends to raise anywhere between $3500-$4500, getting bigger each year, parents and players making their rounds likely expecting a plateau at some point.
