Two-time MCMA winners The Sean Taylor Band make Made in Manitoba debut
We're having a party this weekend on Made in Manitoba, with yet another debut. This time around its the six piece Winnipeg based country music group The Sean Taylor Band. Featuring Greg Dunstan on bass, James Klassen on keys, Sean Taylor Johnston on acoustic guitar and vocals, Juno award winner Jeff Kula on drums, Sean Borton on guitar, and Blaine Badiuk on fiddle and mandolin.

Manitoba Wildfire Service is advising the province continues at a high and very high fire danger and is cancelling all burn permits for the Burning Permit Area, with no new burn permits issued until the wildfire situation improves.
Manitoba is under a provincial state of emergency, under the Emergency Measures Act due to a wildfire season that is now the worst on record in the last 30 years, with more than one million hectares (ha) of area burned in the province. The state of emergency is in effect until August 9 and if necessary, may be extended.
Manitobans offered tips to protect themselves in poor air quality
Due to the wildfire season, Manitoba Health, Seniors and Long-Term Care encourages Manitobans to regularly check local weather and air-quality conditions and learn more about protecting themselves if wildfire smoke results in worsened air quality.
Exposure to smoke can cause sore eyes, tears, coughs and a runny nose. It can also worsen heart and lung conditions such as asthma. Heavier smoke or long-term exposure can cause longer-lasting or more serious health concerns.

Evacuees arrive in Winnipeg as wildfires force thousands out, bring smoke advisories
Evacuees from northern Manitoba continued to pour into Winnipeg Friday as a renewed round of wildfires threatened communities and shrouded much of the province in smoke.
"It's been rough," Misty Harper said, as she and her partner walked outside of a large indoor soccer complex set up to house evacuees, along with her one-year-old daughter in a stroller.
Some people sat at picnic tables under small canopies or on grass in an adjacent field. Buses filled with more evacuees arrived a few times each hour.
Music Camp Festival of the Arts Concert Series continues at the Peace Garden
The International Peace Garden has been enjoying the many talents featured through the International Music Camp Festival of the Art Concert Series.
On Friday nights in June and July, IMC offers a different musical act in genres ranging from traditional Métis tunes to folk music, Americana, indie, jazz, a brass quintet and more. The concerts are free with a $10 IPG gate entrance or an annual pass (unless marked otherwise*).

Canadian Crop Hail Association releases July 3rd storm damage
July 3 Storm Damages Crops
An intense storm on July 3 brought large hailstones, strong winds, and heavy rain that resulted in substantial crop losses, according to the Canadian Crop Hail Association (CCHA).
CCHA member companies are investigating 1,247 claims of crop damage that occurred June 29-July 5. Some areas saw significant damage from the storms.
“There were pockets of large hail, with some farmers reporting up to golf ball-size,” said Brendan Blight, Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation

Arrest Warrants / IPDA / Breach of the Peace
In the last 24 hours three individuals were arrested due to their warrants being executed.
One individual was arrested for Intoxicated Persons Detention Act (IPDA) and two for Breach of the Peace. All three of these incidents included highly intoxicated individuals. Each incident resulted in an individual being arrested and held in Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells. They will be released once sober.
