Dorothy Daniel

The family of Dorothy Daniel is sad to announce her passing on April 28, 2023, just shy of her 103rd birthday. Dorothy was born on May 24, 1920, in England.

Dorothy started her nursing career in the fall of 1938 at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. Dorothy, along with 38 nursing colleagues were the first students to pass through its doors. Shortly after WWII broke out, the QE became a military hospital treating many from the front lines.  From 1939 to 1945, it was a busy time for the hospital seeing 6000 patients with only 2200 lost.

Kevin Reid

It is with the utmost sadness that we would like to share the passing of our father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Kevin Reid. Dad was born on Sept 16, 1933, in a log cabin in Erin Saskatchewan. He attended school and worked in Regina at a grocery store where he met the love of his life, Edith. They moved to Weyburn, where dad worked at a farm implement dealer as service manager and mechanic.

Shirley Anne Haugan

Shirley Anne Haugan, of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan took her last breath earthside, and her first breath in Heaven on May 27, 2023, after a brief yet valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was the first-born daughter to Verl and Alma Van Natter on February 3, 1948, in Alberta and spent her formative years in Grande Prairie, Alberta. In 1969, she met Leroy Haugan, a handsome Saskatchewan boy, while attending Sexsmith Bible College.  It was love at first sight. They married in October, 1969.

Olga Cook

On Dec. 27, 2022, Olga Cook passed away peacefully in Edmonton, Alta., with family by her side. She was 88.

Olga was born in Grenfell, Sask., second-youngest of 10 children born to Anne and Michael Szouronski. She grew up in Broadview, Sask., a community she considered home long after she left.

Douglas Karl Huber

Douglas Karl Huber of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan passed away May 21, 2023, at the age of 79. Doug was the first born to Karl and Ella Huber on January 10, 1944. He grew up on the family farm where farming became his passion as well as hunting and in later years fishing. For many years Doug did custom combining from Oklahoma to Central Saskatchewan. In the off season he sold farm machinery for several companies.

Toni Francein (Zabel) Hanna

Toni Francein (Zabel) Hanna

Toni Francein (Zabel) Hanna was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on June 11, 1946. She grew up on the family farm near Duncairn on the banks of the Swift Current Creek. Toni was the middle daughter of three born to Arnold and Ruby Zabel. Toni loved the outdoors, puddling, swimming, and skating on the Creek. She was an expert on pail feeding the calves of the many milk cows that were kept on the farm. 

Gordon James Ward

Gordon James Ward of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Hospital at the age of 87.

Gordon was born in Cardross, Saskatchewan, on August 31, 1935. He was predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Luella Ward, in-laws Fred and Louise Ferguson, infant brother Gilbert, sister-in-law Rose Ward, and sisters-in-laws Yvonne (Bernie) Forbes, and Pat Ferguson.

Lawrence Blondeau

It is with sadness and profound loss that the family announces the passing of Lawrence Blondeau on April 30, 2023, at the age of 51. He is predeceased by his mom Donna, grandma Elsie, grandpa Archie and his fur buddy China. He will be sadly missed by his children Avery and Jordyn; sister Alison, brothers Shane and Rodney and sister Sarah; special niece Jacie as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
