Terriers offence continues to roll as they pick up sixth straight victory

The Portage Terriers remain undefeated on home ice after taking down the Winnipeg Blue tonight. The Dogs downed the Blues 6-3, making them winners of six consecutive contests.

The Terriers' offence got rolling early. Matt Wisener picked the puck up in the neutral zone with speed and brought it in along the boards. He cut toward the net, went right in front of the Blues' goaltender, and slid the puck past him before he could get across the crease. This made it 1-0 just over a minute into the game.

Terriers demolish Titans in Neepawa

The Portage Terriers are now 10-0 over the last five seasons in Neepawa. The Dogs annihilated the Titans tonight coming away with an 8-0 victory.

The Dogs opened the scoring early as Ryan Botterill broke up a play in the neutral zone and made a pass to Jamie Valentino. This created a 2-on-1 opportunity where Valentino kept it himself but was stopped, however, Daniel Siso was there to put home his third goal of the season.

Terriers bring in 20-year-old forward with WHL experience

The Portage Terriers are acquiring a veteran from the SJHL.

The Dogs have shipped out the CJHL rights to forward Rhys Raeside, along with future considerations, to the Flin Flon Bombers in exchange for forward Kaden Kohle.

Kohle is in his senior season at the junior level and had one point in seven games with the Bombers this season. The forward spent the last four years in the WHL with both the Tri-City Americans and Vancouver Giants. He put up a total of 16 points throughout his WHL career.

Terriers take care of business in Winnipeg

The Portage Terriers have made it four wins in a row. The Dogs came away with a 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Blues on the road tonight.

The Terriers opened the scoring on special teams but not on the end you would expect. After Brandon Funk took a high sticking penalty, last year’s leading scorer Daniel Siso found himself on a short-handed breakaway. He went to his backhand and was able to pick up the unassisted marker for his second goal of the season.

Monteith makes 35 saves as Terriers down the Flyers

The Portage Terriers pulled out their fourth win of the season tonight in a nail-biter. The Dogs took down the Winkler Flyers 2-1 in a shootout on home ice.

Midway through the first period, Austin Peters chased down the puck behind the net, and as he fought for it, the puck bounced high and over the net. Sequoia Swan was in the slot and snatched the puck with his glove. He outstretched the goalie and tucked the puck behind him but couldn't get it into the back of the net.

Terriers return to dog pound for meeting with Winkler

The Portage Terriers are hoping to get back to their winning ways tonight on home ice. The Dogs will be taking on the Winkler Flyers for the first time this season tonight at Stride Place.

The Terriers are coming off of their first loss of the year on Sunday against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines where they dropped a 5-2 decision. The Dogs will be looking to clean up their special teams play in this one as they gave up three power-play goals in the loss.
