Prospecting for Pure Gold: WMC presents their annual scholarship winners concert

Tonight at 7:30 at St. Andrews River Heights United Church the Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg (WMC) will be holding their annual scholarship winners recital.

Six marvelous Manitoba musicians have won more than 11 thousand dollars in prizes and tonight they will have the opportunity to show what set them apart from the rest.

Jingle Allll the Ways: Students from Linden Christian School Stopped by to perform in our Classic 107 Studio

Over the past couple of weeks we have been inviting choirs from around Winnipeg to perform in our Classic 107 Studio. Christmas is a time for singing and with Manitoba’s proud Choral tradition there is no better way to celebrate the holiday season with the sounds of the voices rejoicing in the merriment of the season.

107 LIVE! with 'In the Heights' from Sturgeon Heights!

In the lead-up to the winter break, students from various schools have popped by the Classic 107 studio to help get us all into the holiday spirit. 

On Thursday morning, the vocal jazz group "In the Heights" from Sturgeon Heights Collegiate in the St. James-Assiniboia School Division performed a pair of peppy numbers.

A Cozy, Comfy and Festive 107 LIVE! with the Sisler Chamber Choir

Though it may look like they just rolled out of bed, the Sisler High School Chamber Choir was in full voice early on Monday morning! 

Sporting their best pajamas on account of Sisler's Spirit Week, a small contingent of the roughly 30-voice chamber choir was in studio performing under the direction of Carolyn Boyes. 

One of the largest schools in the province, Sisler boasts 6 choral ensembles of varying sizes, who perform at the school in their holiday concert on Wednesday, December 20 at 7 p.m. The entrance fee is just $2! 

 

Holiday Intimacy: Clear Lake Festival presents Holiday Highlights

This Sunday, December 17th at Brandon University’s Lorne Watson Recital Hall, and on Saturday December 23rd at Broadway Disciples United Church here in Winnipeg, The Clear Lake Festival will present a concert called “Holiday Highlights.”

Featuring music of Liszt, and Tchaikovsky as well as holiday classics such as Joy to the World and What Child is and more, this concert promises to be a concert full of holiday cheer and a great way to embrace this Christmas season.
