Winnipeg artists are bringing life and colour to the city with large murals for the West End Biz's Renewal Art Project.

The Government of Manitoba says it is excited to further develop and enrich the arts, culture and sports areas in our province by opening the first intake of $34 million this year.

On August 16, Minister of Sport, Culture and Heritage, Andrew Smith announced that applications are open for the new Arts, Culture and Sport in Community (ACSC) fund.

The three-day Kultivation Festival will be bringing the whole community of Filipinos together this weekend. 

"In 2020 we were going to do the festival in one central location," says Allan Pineda, the Executive Director of Kultivation Festival. The Château Laurier says it's been able to narrow down a time frame of when it believes a famous portrait of Sir Winston Churchill was stolen from its walls: sometime between Christmas Day last year and Jan. 6.

The hotel appealed for help from the public yesterday after a staff member noticed the photo wasn't hung correctly over the weekend, and an inspection revealed that the portrait was a copy, not an original. 

Greta Constantine is vying for back-to-back wins in the womenswear category at the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards.

The Toronto label, which clinched the prize last year, was named among the nominees Tuesday for the awards honouring homegrown talent setting trends on the runway.

Also competing in the womenswear category are Hilary MacMillan, Silk Laundry, LECAVALIER and UNTTLD.

In menswear, the contenders are Mr. Saturday, SECTION 35, École de Pensée, Christopher Bates and Raised by Wolves.
