Connor's OT winner leads Jets to 2-1 win over Predators, snap two-game skid

Winnipeg Jets centre Adam Lowry figured that teammate Kyle Connor would bounce back from having his first 10 shots stopped.

Connor scored the game-winning goal 3:31 into overtime to lift the Jets to a 2-1 victory over the Nashville Predators on Thursday.

“I think, even early on in the year, he was a little snakebit, but he was getting seven, eight chances, real good chances to score,” said Lowry, who assisted on the winner. “You had the feeling that eventually, one of those is gonna go in."

Panthers coach Paul Maurice gets emotional in his return to Winnipeg

Former Jets head coach Paul Maurice was expecting an emotional return to Winnipeg when he brought his Florida Panthers to town on Tuesday.

Maurice knew being introduced before the game at Canada Life Centre would be a stirring moment.

“It's a big part of your life. You invest so much into it, and you don't separate the personal and the professional because they always come together, right? My kids came here at a young age, and they became who they are in Winnipeg," said Maurice, who spent parts of nine seasons behind the Jets bench.

Connor scores twice, Jets top Panthers 5-2 in Maurice's return to Winnipeg

Kyle Connor scored twice and added an assist to help the Jets spoil Paul Maurice's return to Winnipeg with a 5-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night.

The game marked the first time Maurice faced his former team. After coaching the Jets for parts of nine seasons, the 55-year-old left abruptly midway through last year's campaign. He signed on as Florida's bench boss in June.

Jets held scoreless as Jarry shines for Penguins in 3-0 win

Tristan Jarry served as a barrier the Winnipeg Jets just could not get through.

The Pittsburgh goaltender stopped all 32 shots he faced, leading the Penguins to a 3-0 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday night.

It was Jarry’s first shutout of the season.

“It’s always nice when you don’t let anything in,” said Jarry, who had been battling an undisclosed injury recently. “I thought the guys did a great job there, boxing out early, and it allowed me to see a lot of pucks. I was seeing tips and played well positionally.”

Connor caps hat trick with late winner to lift Jets past Ducks 3-2

Kyle Connor is starting to break out of a mini-slump.

Connor completed his hat trick netting the game winner with 53.5 seconds remaining to give the Winnipeg Jets a 3-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night.

Connor, who scored 47 goals last season, converted a perfect pass from forward Mark Scheifele, snapping a shot past Ducks goaltender John Gibson for just his fifth goal this year.

Hellebuyck stops all 30 shots he faces as Jets blank Blackhawks 4-0

Connor Hellebuyck stopped all 30 shots he faced as the Winnipeg Jets blanked the Chicago Blackhawks 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Defenceman Josh Morrissey and forward Pierre-Luc Dubois each had a power-play goal and an assist as Winnipeg (7-3-1) improved to 5-0-1 in its last six games.

Jets defenceman Nate Schmidt also scored on the power play while forward Adam Lowry had his second short-handed goal of the season.

Arvid Soderblom started in net for Chicago (5-5-2), making 21 saves on 24 shots before being replaced by Dylan Wells to start the third period.

Jets soar past Blues as Hellebuyck nets shutout

The Jets came through for their sick head coach.

Defenceman Josh Morrisey set up two goals as Winnipeg defeated the St. Louis Blues 4-0 at Canada Life Centre with head coach Rick Bowness nursing an illness at home on Monday.

Morrissey assisted on goals by forwards Sam Gagner and Mark Scheifele. Forwards Morgan Barron and Cole Perfetti, into an empty net, also scored.

Blues netminder Thomas Greiss stopped 41 of 44 shots.

Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck made 25 saves for his first shutout of the NHL season.

Jets honour Hawerchuk's hockey greatness, memory with special statue

Crystal Hawerchuk told a crowd of hundreds of people how much her late husband, Dale, loved the city and the province before the official unveiling of the statue of the greatest Winnipeg Jet of all time just outside of the Canada Life Centre on Saturday afternoon.

“Now, he is home again,” Crystal said.

Then, 16 former Jets teammates unfurled the cover over the statue to much whooping and applause.
