'Light up' for Disabilities Employment Awareness Month
A National Disability Employment Awareness initiative will see purple lights in homes and businesses this evening, as a show of support and awareness for disability employment.
"So put a purple light up, or an LED light, in your house or your business," encouraged Executive Director Jeff Richards with the Weyburn Wor-Kin Shop. "It's just another way to start the conversations and get people talking about what can we do to help folks with disabilities get into the workplace."
October is 'Disability Employment Awareness Month' (DEAM) in Saskatchewan.

Carnie's Comments - Throwback Thursday
Carnie's Comments
It's Throwback Thursday - just a minute to remember the good ol' days.
Let me take you back to the summer of 1984. I was working outdoors as a playground supervisor at a place called Elgin Park in Moose Jaw. We had a paddling pool and a beautiful park space to enjoy.
Of course, we had music - the radio!
A lot of the kids, including myself, were diggin' a fresh new sound from a Canadian band called Honeymoon Suite. They had just released their first album in June of '84.

McGillivray in the morning moments
I was out for a Moose Cruise Wednesday afternoon when I came across 5 moose in some brush. They slowly made their way to another bunch of trees and seemed pretty content.
After about 15 minutes this guy decided, he was going to separate from the rest of them and make a run for it. He wanted across the road where I was sitting and there was no changing his mind. When a moose decides it's time to go, they go! He blew by me like a bullet, once across the road he paused and looked back as if it was a bet with his buddies.
