Shared Joy Is Double Joy

Ecclesiastes 4:9

There's an old Swedish motto that hangs in many a kitchen: "Shared joy is a double joy. Shared sorrow is half a sorrow."

The secret of survival is not simply enjoying life's joys and enduring its sorrows, it is in sharing both with others.

We gain perspective by having somebody at our side. We gain objectivity. We gain courage in threatening situations. Having others near tempers our dogmatism and softens our intolerance. We gain another opinion. We gain what today, in our technical world, is called "input."

Exciting changes coming to local radio

The radio landscape in Estevan is about to change.

Our local radio stations have continually championed our communities, providing local information and a platform for community voices and organizations, along with entertaining hosts, great music, and relevant daily news coverage.

That will continue to be better than ever, and what will change will be exciting for Estevan and the southeast.

Verse of the Day: November 14, 2023

1 Peter 3:18

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.

You Lost. Get Over It.

Romans 15:7

If you don't get your way, get over it, get on with life.If you don't get your way in a vote at a church, get over it. The vote was taken (if the church has integrity, the vote was handled with fairness), now get on with it. Just press on.

And don't rehearse the fight or the vote year after year. The work of God slows down when we are not big enough to take it on the chin and say, "We lost!"

Having been raised in the South, I didn't know the South lost the Civil War until I was in junior high school...and even then it was debatable among my teachers.

Verse of the Day: November 13, 2023

1 Peter 2:15-16

For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.
