Laughter, food and winning were a part of this year's full scale comedy fundraiser in support of the Pembina Valley Humane Society (PVHS) Saturday night at the Days Inn Conference Centre.

A crowd of concerned citizens gathered in and outside of the South Central Regional Library (SCRL) branch in Winkler last Thursday night at the board's monthly meeting, with a delegation of six people presenting its concerns based on a complaint made previously.
Spokesperson for the delegation, Karin Banman, is a mother of two school aged boys, and has served as an educator in the Pembina Valley for ten years.
Katie Cares Fashion Show lives on 10 years after Kaitlyn's passing

Winkler's Mackenzie Dunseath always dreamed of meeting Queen Elizabeth II. She had a long relationship with Her Majesty and recalls the stories her parents told to her over and over again about the opportunities they had to meet her.

An excited crowd of people gathered outside Morden's Kenmor Theatre last Wednesday night, in anticipation of the CBC comedy show Still Standing, that travels across Canada featuring places and the people living in different communities, put to the backdrop of a standup comedy sketch, hosted by Comedian Jonny Harris.
The show is going into its eighth season, and Producer Alex Lazarowich said they typically feature communities facing unique challenges.
