Maria Estelle Wilvers

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Maria Estelle Wilvers (Pierrard) at the age of 89.

Maria passed away on December 5, 2024, on what would have been her husband Marcel’s 91st birthday. She was surrounded by her loving girls and their families.

Merle Lenora Short

It is with sadness that the family announce the passing of Merle Lenora Short on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the age of 76. She is predeceased by her parents and siblings. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 46 years Brian; son Tyler (Crystal); grandson Michael and many good friends. A memorial tea to celebrate Merle’s life will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 1:30 to 3:30pm at W. J. Jones & Son Reception Hall, 474 Hochelaga St W, Moose Jaw. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross, 2050 Cornwall St, Regina, SK S4P 2K5.

George W. Ball

The family of George W. Ball is sad to announce his passing on Thursday December 5, 2024, at the age of 71. George was born on November 21, 1953, in Wolseley, SK. He was a locomotive mechanic for many years before his retirement. George will be greatly missed by his wife Cynthia; sister Pearl Ball; brother Gene Lively; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday December 10, 2024, from 11:00am-11:30am. A graveside service will follow at Rosedale Cemetery at 12:00pm, Pastor Larry will officiate.

Eldo Mervyn Schmidt

Eldo Mervyn Schmidt of Moose Jaw passed away on November 8, 2024, at the age of 78.

Born in Gravelbourg, he grew up on the family farm near Ernfold, SK. He attended Charlotte Rural School to grade 7, attending high school in Morse where he achieved his grade 12. He came to Moose Jaw in 1965 and worked several jobs, the longest one being for the Moose Jaw Public School board for 32.5 years, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed travelling and camping with his wife Marion. His hobbies included model building, stamp and coin collecting as well as metal detecting in his earlier years.

Curtis is survived by his four sons Michael, Kyle, Justin and Trevor; grandchildren Emila and Isla; mother Joan Paquin and his father Chris (Kendra) Aamundsen; his siters Alynne (Gary) Knibbs, Dina (Jason) Boggs; extended family Lisa Oliver, Kaylen (Sarah) Ficko; nephews Chase Hartum, Zakery (Sarah) and their son Jasper; niece Jasmyn (Jesse) Hubbard; many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends Craig and Michelle Waldbilling.

Cecile Alice Jean Couture

It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Cecile Alice Jean Couture of Moose Jaw on April 22, 2023. She will be sadly missed by her children Joanne (Milly) Couture, Michel (Iris) Couture, Maurice (Sandra) Couture, Juliet (Tom) Sinclair, Adele Langlois; nine grandchildren; great grandchildren; ten siblings; nieces; nephews, and many friends. A Celebration of Cecile’s life will take place on Thursday April 27, 2023, at 1:30PM at Church of Our Lady, 566 Vaughan St., Moose Jaw, SK.
