Manitoba's 93rd provincial park announced
Natural Resources and Northern Development Minister Greg Nesbitt announced on Tuesday that Pemmican Island is our 93rd provincial park.

"This winter started off actually very similar to last winter. We had about the same amount of snow and cold temperatures up until about mid-December and then all of a sudden things change. So, from mid-December until now, it's gotten a lot warmer and less snowy."

Going green for Christmas
With Christmas just over a week away, here are some tips that will reduce waste in your household this season.
"Typical wrapping paper, the one that's wrapped in foil with shiny things all over it, isn't recyclable," says Colleen Ans, Living Green, Living Well program coordinator at Green Action Centre.

One last splash before summer's end with free park entry
All Manitoba provincial parks have free entry over the Labour Day long weekend.
"The diversity of landscapes and waterways throughout Manitoba’s provincial parks provide a broad range of recreational and relaxing activities to suit any taste," says Environment, Climate and Parks Minister Jeff Wharton. "This long weekend may mark the start of the transition from summer to fall, but there’s still time to participate in your favourite warm-weather activities and with free provincial park access this weekend, there’s no reason not to."
