The class of 2021 at St. Thomas Aquinas High School will be graduating tomorrow.

Unlike last year, things will look closer to normal as there will be two in-person graduation ceremonies. The Northwestern Health Unit, Ministry of Health, and government of Ontario have approved outdoor graduation ceremonies, with capacity limits

The school will be hosting two separate graduation ceremonies to ensure all COVID-19 safety protocols are being observed.

"We are going to be under the Whitecap Pavilion [tomorrow]. We were able to have two ceremonies, we are only permitted to have so many graduates at a time and each graduate is only permitted to bring two guests," said Nicole Kurtz Principal at St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

The ceremonies will be shorter than in previous years and a video will be shown that will incorporate people and items that won't be a part of the in-person celebration, like speeches from members of parliament and other dignitaries.

The public is asked not to attend either ceremony unless invited, as COVID-19 safety measures and capacity restrictions will be in place.
