Mounties confirmed that a vehicle fire that occurred north of Airdrie on Friday afternoon was that of an Amazon delivery van.
Police were dispatched to the scene at approximately 12:21 p.m. on Friday, December 1. Fire crews also attended the scene to deal with the blaze, though the fire was not deemed suspicious as the driver indicated that they had pulled over to deal with brake issues prior to the fire erupting.
No injuries were reported and police said there was no information on whether any parcels were damaged in the vehicle, however, photos taken by a passerby indicate that it appears the packages were taken from the vehicle prior to the fire engulfing the entire car.
