With the snow anticipated to stop near midnight, along with the drop in temperatures, motorists can expect that driving conditions throughout the evening may change and become hazardous.

Although the QEII Southbound from Airdrie towards Calgary City limits is reported as bare and wet, those who may be travelling North of Airdrie may experience slush and icy sections. Highway 2A towards Carstairs is reported as being slushy and slippery. Motorists may also experience reduced visibility at times.

Due to the freezing temperatures that will occur later this evening, highways may become much slicker if the snow and slush freeze over, hence motorists are reminded to drive to the conditions.

Environment and Climate Change Canada predicts upwards of five centimetres of snow will accumulate by tonight.
