The urge of people receiving vaccines and low case numbers across the province has allowed the provincial government to safely be able to move in Step Two of the province’s Roadmap to Reopen Plan.

As of 12:01 this morning the province has officially begun Step Two. This next step is due to the province surpassing the required vaccine thresholds of 70 percent or people needing at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 20 percent being fully vaccinated.

Yesterday, the Northwestern Health Unit reported that 74.8 per cent of people have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 56.1 per cent have received their second dose and are fully vaccinated.

Step Two focuses on the continuation of more outdoor activities and limited indoor services with small numbers of people where face coverings are worn.

Below is a list of what residents can expect in Step Two:

Gathering:

  • Indoor social gatherings and organized public events are allowed up to 5 people

  • Outdoor social gatherings and organized public events can have up to 25 people

 

Religious services, rites or ceremonies, including wedding and funeral services (does not apply to wedding receptions)

  • Indoor is 25 per cent

  • Outdoor is capped at the number of people that maintain two metres of physical distancing.

 

Personal care services:

  • Permitted to open at 25 per cent capacity and where face coverings can be worn at all times

  • Appointment required

  • Services that require the removal of a face covering not permitted

     

Restaurants:

  • Outdoor dining allowed for up to 6 people per table

  • Karaoke permitted with restrictions (outdoor only)

 

Retail stores:

  • 50 per cent capacity for essential and other selected retail stores

  • 25 per cent capacity allowed for non-essential retail stores

 

Liquor Stores:

  • Open at 50 per cent capacity

 

Shopping malls:

  • Stores can open within with restrictions

 

Camping:

  • Overnight camping is permitted

 

Outdoor fitness classes:

  • Capped at number of people that can maintain 3 metres of social distancing

 

Public libraries:

  • Able to open at 25 per cent capacity

 

Outdoor meeting and event spaces:

  • Permitted at 25 per cent capacity

 

Outdoor amusement and water parks:

  • Can open at 25 per cent capacity

 

Outdoor sports games, leagues and events:

  • Permitted at 25 per cent capacity

 

Outdoor cinemas, performing arts, live music events and attractions:

  • Open to 25 per cent capacity

 

Outdoor horse racing and motor speedways:

  • Permitted to take place with a capacity of 25 per cent

 

Outdoor recreational amenities 

  • Open with restrictions

 

Casino, bingo halls, and gaming establishments:

  • Closed
