Motorists are reminded to drive to the conditions as fog continues to blanket Airdrie and the surrounding areas.
Early on Wednesday morning, the QEII headed Southbound towards Calgary city limits had reduced visibility, as well as ice fog and icy sections.
Heading north of Airdrie towards Crossfield and Carstairs, road conditions were also reported to be foggy.
Late on Tuesday evening, Airdrie Mounties responded to a multi-vehicle motor collision east of Beiseker. The collision occurred near Highway 9 at Range Road 252, shutting down traffic, with police saying that traffic in both directions was being diverted. Police added that they would be on the scene for several hours while emergency services responded. However, on Wednesday morning, it was reported that the highway was fully re-opened.
A fog advisory continues to be in effect for the surrounding areas.
"Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. If travelling, be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop," Environment and Climate Change Canada stated.
It is anticipated conditions will improve later on Wednesday.
