A fog advisory that was put into effect on Tuesday evening is continuing for Airdrie and the surrounding areas.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), persistent fog with visibility near zero is expected or occurring.
"Fog will redevelop overnight tonight with some improvement expected Thursday afternoon. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. If travelling, be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility."
Motorists are asked to exercise caution as road conditions may change.
As of Wednesday evening, the QEII, heading Southbound towards Calgary City limits was reporting fog, but fair visibility, while heading North of Airdrie towards Crossfield and Carstairs, the conditions were also fair. The fog advisory is also in effect for Cochrane, Olds, as well as Sundre.
The fog that developed Tuesday evening is also being considered as a factor in a deadly collision east of Airdrie, which claimed the life of a Red Deer woman.
