The Northwestern Health Unit has sped up vaccine eligibility for those between 12 and 17 years old, meaning the wait between first and second dose could be a little as 21-days.
Second dose eligibility has expanded to anyone aged 12 years or older who:
- had a first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at least 21 days ago;
- had a first dose of the Moderna vaccine at least 28 days ago;
- had a first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine at least 56 days / 8 weeks ago
Residents can book their first or second dose through the Northwestern Health Unit's online booking system or by calling 1-866-468-2240, or by attending a walk-in clinic.
As of June 29, 72.5 per cent of region residents over 12 have recieved their first dose of vaccine while, 51.5 per cent of residents are full immunized.
