A man accused of attempted murder appeared in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Thursday.
Dillon Peeace appeared via video in front of Judge David Chow.
Legal Aid lawyer Suzanne Lalonde appeared as an agent for Dillon’s lawyer Brian Pfefferle and asked for an adjournment to Jan. 25 for a show cause hearing.
Lalonde added that Dillon’s brother Kyle, who is the co-accused, needs a lengthier adjournment as Legal Aid seeks another lawyer for him.
Dillon has previously raised concerns in the court because it had been a long time since he’s had contact with his lawyer. Pfefferle told the court, through Lalonde, that he’s been making attempts but has been having difficulty getting through to the correctional facility.
Lalonde confirmed the issue, saying she’s had the same problem with some of her clients over the past couple of months.
Dillon and Kyle are each charged with attempted murder following an alleged machete attack that took place in downtown Moose Jaw on Sept. 28, 2023.
