There are slightly more than one thousand active COVID-19 cases in Manitoba.

As of Thursday morning, there are 86 new COVID-19 cases being announced.

New cases include:

  • 39 new cases in the Winnipeg health region
  • 16 new cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region
  • 11 new cases in the Northern health region
  • 10 new cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region
  • 10 four new cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region

Manitoba's current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 5.4 per cent provincially and 5.2 per cent in Winnipeg. After a data correction, a total of 56,667 COVID cases have been confirmed, with 54,494 recoveries.

There are 1016 active cases. The most active COVID-19 cases are in Winnipeg with 389, with Prairie Mountain having the fewest at 88.

Three people have died, including:

  • a male in his 60s from the Northern health region, linked to the B.1.1.7 (alpha) variant of concern
  • a female in her 70s from the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region linked to the alpha variant of concern
  • a male in his 70s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the alpha variant of concern

There are 142 Manitobans in the hospital because of the virus. This includes 137 hospitalizations in Manitoba with 56 people with active COVID-19 and 81 people in the hospital who are no longer infectious

There are 34 ICU hospitalizations with 21 people with COVID-19 who are no longer infectious but continue to require critical care and 13 active cases.

Five Manitobans are getting ICU care in Ontario. A total of 40 Manitobans have returned from out-of-province care.
