The Prairie Mountain Health region continues to see low new COVID-19 case counts.
There is a total of 74 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Manitoba. This includes:
- 33 new cases in the Winnipeg health region
- 22 new cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region
- 13 new cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region
- five new cases in the Northern health region
- one new case in the Prairie Mountain Health region
Manitoba's five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 5.1 per cent and Winnipeg's is 4.6 per cent. After a data correction the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 56,739.
There are 1,030 active and 54,549 recovered COVID-19 cases.
Hospitalizations
Manitobans receiving out-of-province care are continuing to come back home. Four Manitobans previously transported out of province for ICU care remain there, with all of them in Ontario.
There are a total of 141 people hospitalized with COVID-19.
In intensive care units in Manitoba, there are 33 patients. Fourteen of those cases are active.
Deaths
Three people with the virus have died.
Deaths include:
- a male in his 30s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the B.1.1.7 (alpha) variant of concern
- a male in his 70s from the Prairie Mountain Health region, linked to the alpha variant of concern
- a male in his 80s from the Prairie Mountain Health region
