Winnipeg's five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate has dropped under four per cent.

As of Wednesday morning, 53 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed. 

This includes:

  • 31 new cases in the Winnipeg health region
  • 11 new cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region
  • 10 new cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region
  • one new case in the Prairie Mountain Health region
  •  zero new cases in the Northern health region

Manitoba's five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is four per cent, and Winnipeg's is 3.8 per cent.

After a data correction, there is a total number of lab-confirmed cases of 56,987, with 54,843 recoveries. There are 1,163 people who have died, and 981 active cases.

 

Hospitalizations

There are 131 people in Manitoba in the hospital, including two who are in Ontario ICU.

In total, there are 48 people in care who have active COVID-19 cases, and 81 people who are no longer infectious.

In Manitoban ICUs, there are 31 people with nine of which being active cases and the remainder are not infectious.

 

Vaccines

Wednesday is Manitoba's COVID-19 "Vax-A-Thon." The day of walk-ins is aimed at encouraging people to get their first and second shots. In Manitoba, 76.7 per cent of people have received their first vaccine, and 58.5 per cent their second.
