Just days after reports surfaced of an armed robbery in Portage la Prairie last Friday, police are sharing details of a similar incident from Wednesday morning.
On February 21, at about 5:10 a.m., police responded to a report of a panic alarm at a business located in the 700 block of Saskatchewan Avenue.
While officers were responding, an update had been received that a robbery had just occurred. The RCMP attended and learned that two men who are suspects in the case had entered the establishment, one armed with a handgun, the other with a knife, and had stolen cash and cigarettes.
The suspects fled westbound from the business and are believed to have entered an awaiting vehicle. Surveillance cameras captured footage of them entering the store. Just before this robbery, an unidentified woman is seen entering the establishment and walking around briefly before leaving.
Anyone with information about this robbery or who can help identify the two men or the woman seen walking in prior to the robbery is asked to contact the Portage la Prairie RCMP at 204-768-2311, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com.
Portage la Prairie RCMP continue to investigate.
