After an ongoing investigation, officers from the Ste-Rose du Lac RCMP, along with the Manitoba West District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST) unit and Police Dog Services (PDS), conducted a search of a home in Ebb and Flow First Nation last week.

On February 29, officers seized pre-packaged cocaine, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, prepaid credit cards, firearms, ammunition, cash and drug-related paraphernalia.

Officers arrested seven suspects, four of whom were later released without charge.

RCMP has charged Brian Houle, 39, from Ebb and Flow First Nation, and Connie Malcolm, 42, from Bacon Ridge, with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and several firearms-related offences.

They were both later released from police custody for a court date scheduled for April 11, in Dauphin.

A 29-year-old female, from Ebb and Flow First Nation, was found to have an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for a breach of a Conditional Sentence Order. Denee Baptiste was brought into custody.

The Manitoba RCMP says they are committed to working with First Nation communities that have asked to make drug enforcement a priority.

These enforcement actions will continue as per the expressed wishes of community leadership.

 The investigation continues.
