Due to an ongoing incident in the East Village area in Calgary, access to downtown will be significantly impacted today.
"Multiple bridges in the downtown area will be closed for emergency crews to work. There is no risk to the public at this time," a brief news release from The City of Calgary stated.
In a Thursday afternoon update, CPS stated that they were aware access to the downtown core continues to be significantly impacted.
"We thank you for your continued patience as we work to bring a safe resolution for the individual involved," police stated on X (formerly known as Twitter).
According to police, the Fifth Avenue Flyover is now open. However, both the Reconciliation Bridge and Fourth Avenue Flyover will remain closed.
