Alberta Health Services (AHS) will soon be closing the rapid-flow COVID-19 immunization clinics in Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray.

The Grande Prairie clinic at Teresa Sargent Hall will close on Aug. 8 at 4:30 p.m. The Fort McMurray clinic at MacDonald Island Park will close Aug. 11 at 8 p.m. Until then, these clinics remain open for both first- and second-dose immunization appointments.

Immunization services will continue to be available seven days a week in both cities.  Albertans will be able to continue to be immunized at multiple locations, including public health centres, pharmacies and physician offices. Appointments can be booked at these locations by using the AHS online booking tool at ahs.ca/covid, calling Health Link at 811 or contacting local pharmacies and physician offices.

Demand for immunization continues; however, rapid-flow clinics are no longer needed given a significant proportion of eligible Albertans are now immunized.

More than five million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to Albertans.  Please be reminded Albertans are still required to wear a face mask at all AHS sites, including immunization clinics.
