A 31-year-old man from Winnipeg is without his license after being arrested after failing a breathalyzer test over the weekend.
Just before 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 7th, a Portage la Prairie RCMP officer initiated a stop with a vehicle on Saskatchewan Avenue as the licence plate associated to the owner had an outstanding Warrant of Arrest out of Lundar.
During the arrest of the driver, an odour of alcohol was detected by the officer.
The driver, a 31-year-old man from Winnipeg, was asked to provide a breath sample on a Roadside Screening Device. The results of those tests were a Fail.
The driver was issued an Immediate Roadside Driving Prohibition. He has lost his licence for 90 days and his vehicle was towed and impounded for 30 days.
He was released to appear in court at a later date in Lundar to answer for his outstanding charges.
